General Summary
The Strategy Associate will be a key contributor to designing and executing all aspects of Medical Affairs, including new initiatives, the implementation of marketing and communications strategies, coordination of projects with internal and external partners and preparation of key communication assets. In this role, the Strategy Associate will work to create innovative strategies to improve community health and patient outcomes, increase precision medicine access to underserved communities, build and maintain partnerships and appropriately prioritize time, attention, and resources towards Medical Affairs’ key areas of focus. This team member will develop skills in building strategic partnership, project development, project management, medical affairs and patient advocacy.
 
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Works directly with the VP of Medical Affairs to support strategic initiatives, project management, and support the implementation of new programs
  • Translate data and information into comprehensible spreadsheets and presentations using graphs, charts, bullet points, images and video for senior leadership including board members, and other key public and private partners
  • Serve as a thought partner to the leadership team on cross-functional operational and strategic topics including but not limited to –strategic positioning of branding and campaigns, cross-functional project management, resource development, and stakeholder collaborations
  • Synthesize data and research to support the division’s impact, inform strategy, and develop internal and external communication assets
  • Collaborate as a problem solver and thought partner on mission-critical challenges and developments
  • Assist in the development of critical communications and presentations to providers, patients, physician groups, potential funders and other interested parties
  • Support all general medical affairs activities and closely collaborate with the Chief Data Officer
  • Assist the VP of Medical Affairs with brand development and production of communication assets
  • Key architect of building a novel platform to connect patients and providers with cutting edge medical technology and ensuring statewide access.
  • Serve as an advisor to the design of a new software platform and overall product implementation
  • Develop a wide network of relationships with clinicians and other healthcare providers.
Requirements/Minimum Qualifications
  • HS plus 6 years of experience in strategy, research, medical affairs or and communications OR Bachelor's in business, communications, public health, biological sciences or related field plus 2-4 years of experience (in strategy, research, project management or and communications).  
  • Enjoys launching new initiatives, pursuing interesting opportunities and forging partnerships
  • Nimble executor – translating goals and objectives into actionable business priorities and work streams for the team to execute is second-nature for you
  • Excellent written communication skills -- Highly skilled in writing great emails, an expert in shorter vs longer summaries, and known for making amazing PowerPoint decks

Physical Demands
This position is typically located in an office environment. Occasional domestic travel is required. Position requires ability to work on a computer, sit, and stand for extended periods of time.  Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
